We have been working very hard here in the Nanaimo Region in developing our relationships with both ATS and FedEx Ground and seeking to become their Service Partner of Choice on Vancouver Island.

We are pleased to announce:
 
ATS Retail Solutions
Late last week we reached an agreement with ATS for service in the Northern Part of Vancouver Island and the Northern Sunshine Coast. This includes areas such as Port McNeill, Port Hardy, Sayward, Gold River and Powell River. We started receiving our first consolidations of freight for this requirement driven distribution style work on Monday October 24th . My hats off to Shannon and her amazing team of drivers and personnel in Courtenay as well as Robyn in Powell River. In addition, Conrad and Gary here in Nanaimo for the timely recovery and processing of the freight here in Nanaimo. So far this week, we have not even had a single exception to report. This is exciting work and we hope the fine job being done by our team here on the Island will lead to additional work for other parts of the Island as well as British Columbia.
 
FedEx Ground
We have been working on getting some more from these folks for some time now. We are very pleased to announce that we struck a deal with FedEx Ground here in Nanaimo and effective Monday, October 31st, 2011, we will become FedEx Ground’s primary service partner on Vancouver Island. This was well beyond our expectations as we had only been asking for the South Cowichan Valley work as a stepping stone to bigger and better things. Layne and myself had a meeting with Ken Ridgeway a week ago and he was very impressed with what TDS brought to the table vs. his current service provider mix. I had a meeting with Ken yesterday and he explained that it did not make sense not to work with us and offered most of the Vancouver Island Service area. He loved the proximity to our location, the consistency of our operations and our area coverage. What really won him over was our technology (CXT).  Again this hopefully paves the way to additional work with FedEx ground in other areas on Vancouver Island and British Columbia.

Thanks to all that are making our ability to make these kinds of large International Forwarders realize that Total Delivery Systems is the solution to their Transportation needs in British Columbia.
